As the play opens, Anthony, accompanied by a supporting cast of characters, shares his first secret: a haunting childhood memory of his father forcing him to wear a dress and dance for his entertainment. This traumatic event becomes a focal point, influencing Anthony's relationships, his quest for forgiveness, and his understanding of self.

The narrative expands to include Anthony's time as a prisoner of war in a Nazi concentration camp, where he endured unimaginable horrors. Through his introspective narration, the audience bears witness to the physical and emotional toll of his experiences, alongside fellow survivors Norm Feldman and William Shapiro.

Amidst the darkness, a glimmer of hope emerges as California Congressman Joe Baca becomes a driving force in exposing the truth of the American GIs targeted by Nazis for their Jewish heritage and other deemed undesirable traits. Anthony's encounters with Commandant Schmidt, Metz, and Merz highlight the complexities of power dynamics and the struggle for survival.

The play explores the complex dynamics between Anthony and his father, Francisco, who symbolizes the strained relationship and the quest for forgiveness that unfolds throughout the play. The weight of carrying secrets, the power of resilience, and the pursuit of reconciliation are themes that resonate throughout.
